About
This project will frame economics in a way that challenges both the prevailing system and the elitism of the surrounding conversation, bringing new voices into the discussion and giving them weight on a national stage.
Onion Collective will work with diverse voices from within their own community, and in collaboration with both community business leaders from up and down the country and professional storytellers, to undertake a piece of active participatory learning culminating in the collective writing of a book about a new model of economics that places community centre stage – an economics of attachment.
This project is focused in Watchet, West Somerset, a place that by almost all metrics is failing: it has the lowest social mobility, wages and SME productivity in the country.
