The project will create work that centres different narratives about places - and who gets to shape them.
In this present context where renewal will happen alongside the long crisis, artist-supported, community-centric regeneration brings an opportunity to re-pattern civil society in a new way. This work will explore that, offering ways for creative and cultural leadership in the MAIA network, and wider, contributing to shaping communities as they rebuild. The project will delve deeper into the relationship between space, the built environment, cultures, place-keeping and deeply rooted community work, exploring interdependent relationships and shared learnings between a national and international coalition of Black-led cultural platforms.
